Missoula MT to Grand Coulee Dam

Us in front of the Sierra Silver Mine in Wallace Idaho. We toured this mine on Saturday. We had a fantastic guide that kept us laughing all the way through. We were all by ourselves, so we had a persoonal tour, which was great.
This is a view inside the mine. It was very cool and damp in this mine, although the deeper you go, the hotter it gets. Our guide told us he had worked in mines where the temperature in the shafts reached 110 degrees. Wallace Idaho is the silver capital of the US. They worked an 8-hour shift without taking a lunch, but did have plenty of water with them.

Notice the Space Ship on a street corner of Wallace. How often do you see a real life Space Ship on a ssstreet corner?

We ate lunch here outside of Idaho Falls, Idaho. The restaurant was very unique and decorated with Hot Rods, Motorcycles and other automotive stuff. We had fish and chips and a wonderful coleslaw, which I tried to get the recipe, but they wouldn't give it out. I even offered them a buck for it.

Next stop Grand Coulee Dam. The dam is a mile long , 40 stories high with 3 power plants in the base. It is the largest producer of electric power in the US, and the third largest5 in the world. It provides electricity for hundreds of cities and irrigation water for over 500,000 acres of crop land.
For size comparison, note the 45 Foot white trailer on the left side of the dam just above the water.
Sorry we have not blogged for the past few days, but it was too late by the time we found a hotel. All the small towns had alternativ rock concerts or rodeos going on and we had a hard time finding a hotel.
