Larch Mountain Views

We found a road listed on a local map that would take us to a mountain top where we could see 5 major mountains from one view point. We took a 14 mile road that had many twists and turns, many which were hairping turns; at some points the road had a 10% incline, but we made it to the top of Larch Mountain which overlooks the Columbia River Gorge. After we left the car we had to walk another 1/4 mile and climb which seemed like hundreds of steps to fianally get to the top where we saw the views which you will see below. It was worth the trip!!!!

This is Mt. St. Helens 46 miles away
Mt. Ranier 97 miles

Mt. Adams 54 mile

Mt. Hood. Not sure how far, the marker was missing.

Mt. Jefferson 62 miles

It was overcast when we got up, so we waited a while before making the trip. This is a picture of the valley that runs along the gorge. Some low hanging clouds had not burned off by the time we took this picture. We all agreed that the Columbia River Gorge is a must see for anyone traveling to the Northwest.
